RESTORING HOPE IN TIMES OF CRISIS
Emergencies, illnesses or unforeseen setbacks can destabilize anyone’s life. Barnabas Center supports individuals and families in times of crisis, offering a wide range of services to help people navigate challenges. From providing rent financial assistance, to helping people access available benefit programs, to giving guidance on proper budgeting, our team helps people stabilize their lives so they can build a more secure future.
HOW TO QUALIFY
To qualify for our crisis assistance and empowerment programs, you must be 18 years of age or older and should plan to show a photo ID and proof of Nassau County residency. Barnabas Center works hard to help as many neighbors in need as possible through this program, but is limited to serving those earning up to two times of the federal poverty level. Please check the chart to see if you qualify and plan to bring proof of income. Since our team works directly with landlords and management companies, those requesting rent payment assistance must also bring their current rental or lease agreement and documents that show rent owed. Similarly, those who require utility assistance must bring the final notice from the utility company.
